Ruptures and Continuities in Teaching Training Courses: An experience in the classrooms of an EFL Teachers’ Training Course
Resumen
In his search for ways of making sense on how knowledge is constructed, Jerome Bruner considered culture as tool for opening the doors to reality; which allows for its understanding, and thus our way to accessing to knowledge (Geertz, 2001: 22). Culture imbues our lives, and as a consequence the way we build our knowledge. And narratives are the most natural and earliest way in which we organize our experience and our knowledge (Bruner, 2000: 140). Approaching Teachers of a Foreign Language Education, especially English language, from a critical perspective is a real challenge. The purpose of this paper is to analyze a narrative experience in that sense. This experience took place within the English Teachers’ Training Course at the School of Humanities, Mar del Plata State University, and it turned into a liberating experience in a Freirian sense for those involved in it.
