Resumen


El libro de Miranda Lida propone una incursión fascinante por los meandros del catolicismo argentino. Objeto de indagación académica desde hace mucho tiempo, revisitado novedosamente por la historiografía en los últimos años; la autora dialoga con esta bibliografía, retoma viejas preguntas y plantea nuevas interrogaciones. En su profundo y ameno recorrido de 246 páginas, casi siempre matiza interpretaciones instituidas y en ocasiones confronta abiertamente con ellas.  Es un libro ambicioso pero no es pretencioso. Intuitivo y erudito, en ocasiones polémico, no es un libro estridente. Sin duda se convertirá en un clásico.
